Boxing Day

We had a great time on Canada's boxing Day. We went out to the country to an Uncles house and spent the day sledding, skating, skadooing, and skiing. It was a great time. The weather was nice only about -15 C or 10 F. The kids had a great time spending time with their cousins and the adults had just as much fun.

Christmas Morning

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE

Christmas morning arrived bright and early after we had finally gone to bed after midnight mass on Christmas Eve. We went to a french midnight mass, it was beautiful even though we did not understand a lot of the service but it was a gorgeous site, the candles and communion was really pretty. Mikayla awoke early because she was so excited. The girls both had a great morning opening presents and playing games. Kayla wanted a scooter from Santa which he brought her. Danielle wanted clothes this year and also she said anything. The girls are busy trying out their dancing gift from their Mimi and Papa. It is quite a workout. We will be heading out later for dinner at the families house. Hope everyone is having a great Christmas. We love you all bunches.

Christmas Program at Church

This past Sunday we had a real treat. The girls and the kids from Garden Park Church presented the Christmas Story of Jesus' birth. It was a beautiful reenactment and reminded us what the true meaning of Christmas really is. Danielle portrayed Mary and did a super job. She even got to help light the unity candles at church. Kayla was a cute little sheep and really did a great job singing all of the songs. It was fun to be able to watch it and hear the true story. May Christmas be a time that you remember the birth and everything that it meant.

Girls Holiday Concert at School

The girls presented a wonderful holiday concert at school tonight. Kayla danced and sang about Hanakuh and Danielle sang in the choir and then also had a small solo part for her class. She enjoyed dressing in a polish costume and singing with her class. It was a beautiful show and everyone in the school was involved. I had never really seen anything like it before. It was a great show and there was a ton of parents and family there. The weather is still really cold minus 40 with the wind chill. Hopefully it will warm up soon. That is really wishful thinking but I could hope.

Sleigh Ride with the Church

We had a wonderful time with the church on Dec. 8th. The weather was so cold however that everyone had to be really bundled up. It was minus 28. That is really cold in my opinion. I had on so many layers that I looked like the kid from Christmas Story. The horses muzzles were frozen and so were people's feet. It was a lot of fun even though it was cold. Danielle then performed at church in a puppet show, which was a great performance.

Halloween Witches

Danielle and Kay both dressed up this year as witches. Danielle fell in love with the orange and black tights and I think Kayla just wanted to look like her. Danielle agreed that it would be ok and so we had both girls kind of dressed alike. Danielle wore her big black boots to finish off her costume and she had to braid the hair to make it her own style which we thought was great. The girls also worked on carving the pumpkins this year. I am finding that I don't have to do nearly as much work anymore. They basically do it all themselves. Kayla couldn't wait to go out trick or treating this year. She was so excited, Danielle didn't really care as much, she enjoyed handing out candy at the house as well as walking around a little bit. Of course we found out that Danielle had strep throat the next day and has been sick since Thursday morning. So that could have had something to do with her not being real enthusiastic. Kayla really racked in the candy and loved wearing her costume to school. She is really doing well in school this year and making a lot of friends.

Kay's 7th Birthday Party

Ahoy Matee!! Once I figured out how to put on the fake tatooes for Kayla's pirate party it went fairly well. The kids all 13 of them enjoyed hunting for treasures. We had string attached to a prize and it was strung all across the basement. The kids seemed to enjoy untangling the strings in order to find their prizes. I even created a treasure cake which turned out really well. It was fun to get to meet Kay's friends and I think the party turned out really well.
